Pop artist Shep Fairey has had his share of critics, but now the Associated Press is suing him for using their image to create the iconic portrait of Obama we have grown to love and BUY. They want that money and that credit for the photograph that “inspired” Shep. Shep and his band of lawyers feel this will go away with the proper talks (aka cut the check, buddy!).

Here are some more of his Obama works that could result in litigaton.

They don’t deserve shit. They just trying to bank on the situation. It’s just a reference picture, that’s it that’s all. If anyone really deserved any thing it would be the photographer.

Shepard Fairey didn’t even charge anyone (even the Obama campaign) for that artwork!…and it is artwork. If he had used the actual photograph, the AP has a point. But, he made an original piece or art inspired by the AP photo so they don’t get shit.

The AP is a muthafucka…They had to wait until all the money has been made to make this slimy move even when Shep Fairey initially aknowledged he got the pic from the internet!!!!!

What ever happened to artistic freedom? The Associated Press are funny…let me see them try to get at Maurice selling those tees on Lennox Ave.

As long as you change 7 things about the original you can copy it. At least in California, where Obey (Mr. Fairey) is from. If the Associated Press wins this could actually limit a lot of art.
