SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END
A 29-year-old Newark man is facing a first-degree murder charge after repeatedly shooting his girlfriend’s former boyfriend, police said.
Sylvester Marchman, 29, is accused of killing Shawn Black, 34, late Friday night outside a Clearview Ridge Townhome in the 600 block of Benham Court, near Pike Creek, New Castle County police said.
The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m. after Black forced his way into the home, police said.
Black and Marchman got into a dispute that spilled into the driveway of the girlfriend’s home, police said.
Marchman ran to his car, got a handgun, repeatedly shot Black and went back inside, police said. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground with numerous gunshot wounds.
Marchman surrendered and the gun was found inside the home, police said.
After failing to post $100,000 secured bail, Marchman was taken to Young Correctional Institution. He also is charged with possession of a handgun during a felony.
Hope Marchman didn’t do this or has a great reason behind it.
