Awesome Dre was the first hip hop act from Detroit to break. He was well-known around the MidWest as that next guy. Had videos and everything. His rhymes were very precise and provacative for 89. He was waaaay before his time. Great rapper. One of my favorites.

Awesome Dre was stupid fresh. Now if someone has a link to AWOL or even better Kaos and Mystro we’ll really be jammin. Too bad most cats in the D now are trying to make some crunk or b.s. pimptrikganstaclik.

PS What ya’ll know about Billy T and the Rap Blast

Yo, Awesome Dre was hard, but Merciless Amir’s cut “A Day Without A Rhyme,” also deserves some recognition. This is the only record ever to have Martin Circus and Rakim on the same track. Shout out to da Boy Merciless….

This was the BEST shit when I was growing up. We use to put this in the boom box downtown and skate all day to this guy. Gowing up in Racine, Wi. I think me and my boys were the only ones that had the Hardcore Committee. I got goose bumps the other day when I heard this for the 1st time in like 20 years!!
